The first installment of Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience is officially 2013's top-selling release, according to Billboard.com.
Timberlake's March 15 unveil of his first studio album since 2006's Future Sex Love Sounds sold 2.43 million copies, standing as the year's only LP to move more than two million units.
JT's album is also the smallest year-end figures in SoundScan album tracking history, marking a new low since since Lil Wayne's The Carter III sold 2.87 million copies to close out 2008.
As for the rest of 2013's best-selling albums, second place went to Eminem for The Marshall Matthers LP 2 with 1.73 million copies since its Nov. 5 release, and commemorating the sixth time Em landed within the Top 10 on such a list. The Detroit MC came in first among 2010's most successful albums with Recovery(3.14 million) and previously with 2007's The Eminem Show (selling 7.6 million copies in a year).
Following Em this year are country singer Luke Bryan's Crash My Party (1.52 million), Imagine Dragon'sNight Vision (1.4 million copies) and Unorthodox Jukebox from Bruno Mars (1.4 million), to round out the top five.
Other projects named include Drake's Nothing Was the Same, selling 1.34 million copies to grab seventh place, and Beyoncé's self-titled release, which has sold 1.3 million copies since Dec. 13, taking the No. 8 spot.
Aside from studio albums, Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" snatched up the title of 2013's biggest single with 6.5 million in sales, beating out Macklemore & Ryan Lewis at second place with "Thrift Shop" (6.15 million). Both tracks were the only singles in 2013 to sell more than 6 million copies.
