Rick Ross Doesn’t Perform in Detroit, Leaves “In Fear of His Life”

Rick Ross was supposed to headline Detroit radio station HOT 107.5′s Summer Jamz 17 last night, but he couldn’t enter the venue due to over one hundred people blocking him from entering. Earlier this year, Detroit artist Trick-Trick released a single titled No Fly Zone, which enacted a citywide ban on rappers who don’t collaborate with other Detroit artists or contribute to the cities music scene.
Apparently the residents of the Motor City took it literal and congregated outside of the concert – with the intent of barring headliner Rick Ross from entry.
Their strategy work and Rick Ross did not end up performing and their program director, Jay Hicks, was forced onstage to explain the MMG boss’ absence to the crowd. “We had Rick Ross right outside here tonight. At about 11 o’clock, when he was pulling up to come into Chene Park, he was met by 100 individuals outside. We have tried to pull every resource together and asked him to come back. He is in fear of his life.”
Rozay then followed up with the following tweet and photo:
