Natty King Freed From Bodily Harm Charges on his wife after she gave him pork

No evidence was offered against Rastafarian reggae artiste Natty King when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday, after he was accused of using a machete to hit his wife on the hand for allegedly leaving pork in the refrigerator.
Kevin 'Natty King' Roberts, also known as 'The man from the East', was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.
The decision made to go no further with the case was taken by Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey, after Roberts' wife told the magistrate she wanted the matter be done away with.
The Crown alleges that sometime in September 2013, an argument developed between Roberts, who is Rastafarian, and his wife, who is a policewoman, over the pork inside a container in a plastic bag left in the refrigerator.
The complainant admitted to the Mister Greedy and No More Guns to Town artiste that she did in fact have the meat, which is abhorred by Rastafarians.
An altercation later ensued over this and a machete was used to hit the complainant on the hand. He allegedly then ran her out of the house, throwing out her cell phone, locking the windows and doors and telling her that the only way to return inside the house was to call the police.
In court, it was revealed that this had not been the first time he had hit the complainant.
After telling both parties that the matter was done, Roberts began to tell the magistrate that he had also discovered questionable contents on his wife's cell phone, however the magistrate would hear none of it.
