This week Kid Cudi announced at a show in Dallas that he’ll be releasing a new EP in the near future. Mr. Solo Dolo has already revealed that Man on the Moon III will be coming out in 2015, but he'll drop the new EP as a preview to the album.
“When I give you the release date, it will be 24 hours before it’s released,” he said. That'd be the new classic hype-building technique. When he made the announcement at the show, he told fans they can look forward to King Chip aka Chip Tha Ripper on the EP, accompanied by his “classic Kid Cudi energy.”’
On his third solo album, Indicud, Cudi brought on other artists such as Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky, giving them time to shine on their featured tracks, while at the same time looking to display more of his production skills.
Perhaps watching other artists shine on his tracks was the fire he needed lit under him in order to come back with some new music for his fans. The EP should be out within the next three months and will flow into Man on the Moon III; a solid sneak peek at the Lonely Stoner’s future work.
