Landlord discovers $1 million under the bed in empty apartment
No, it wasn't the security deposit for a studio rental in Manhattan. A landlord in Dongguan, China, discovered a cache of currency worth $1 million, left behind in a vacant apartment. Building owner Ma Guangdi, two security guards and a cleaner were clearing out the space for potential new tenants. When they moved the bed and mattress, they spotted four large packages wrapped in tape, containing yuan in various denominations. Ma said the previous tenant had stopped sending rental payments, and when Ma went to check out the apartment, the tenant had moved out. Police have seized the cash and launched an investigation.
