During his tenure with the JCF, Lewis has served in many capacities including being the Divisional Commander for Clarendon and in his present role as head of the Police Traffic Division.
Lewis has endeared himself to many Jamaicans for the robust manner in which he has dealt with the traffic situation especially in the Corporate Area and Portmore in St Catherine. His no nonsense approach and his infectious personality have led to the streamlining of traffic at peak periods during the day.
Speaking to OBSERVER ONLINE, SSP Lewis said he is proud of his record of service and plans to continue to serve his country in other areas.
“Yes, my time with the JCF comes to an end today. I am extremely proud of the over 40 years I have served the organisation which has been very good to me. I have worked and worked hard, and the JCF has responded by assisting in my professional and personal development as when I joined I never believed that I could have reached this far,” SSP Lewis said adding that he would recommend all those young persons with the necessary qualifications to join the Police Force.
When asked by OBSERVER ONLINE about his next move on the job market, the usual quick response which he is noted for did not come. Instead, after giving the matter some thought he said. “Everything will be revealed at the right time. The only thing I can say at this time is that it will be in the area of transport.”
