Online Juror Form Lists ‘Slave’ As Occupation

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — It’s the kind of thing you have to see to believe.
A new online juror form in DeKalb, Ga., listed “slave” as an occupation.
The word was included in a long list of jobs on the standard form and a potential juror discovered it by accident.
A local news station showed the form to DeKalb residents, who were offended by it.
“Why is that even an option?, asked one woman. “That’s what we’re asking. Wow.”
“I’m still in shock over it — sorry,” said another woman.
New Yorkers also reacted to it strongly.
“People will continue to promote this type of thing just to make waves,” wrote Deanna Mumbulo-Poet on our Facebook page.
“Probably works at WalMart,” joked John Beirne.
“It is certainly the way I would list it too,” wrote Safya Yassin.
The occupation slave has now been removed from the juror form.
The court administrator is still not sure how it got there in the first place.
