VYBZ KARTEL MURDER TRIAL UPDATE: SENIOR SUPERINTENDENT CORNWALL 'BIGGA' FORD TESTIFIED

Sources have confirmed that Senior Superintendent of police Cornwall 'Bigga' Ford took the witness stands today at the murder trial of Dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel, but not before Justice Lennox Campbell called for steps to be taken to ensure that co-accused Shane Williams, who is always late, shows up for court before 10 a.m.
Reports are that Williams' late arrival delayed the proceedings for more than 30 minutes this morning.
However, Senior Superintendent of police Cornwall 'Bigga' Ford, who took the witness stand earlier, denied suggestions that the presence of the media with cameras at Kartel’s premises was part of a conspiracy to ensure a conviction for the entertainer. He told the court that he knew nothing about how the media got to the premises. SSP Ford said he only received information that media was present when Kartel’s premises was being search in August 2011.
As you may already know, Kartel is jointly charged with fellow entertainer Shane Williams, Shawn Campbell, AndrĂ© St John and Kahira Jones for the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.  However, fashion designer Calvin Haye, who was also charged in the case, was released on Wednesday after the prosecution found no evidence against him.
The trial follows the alleged murder of Clive Williams who was claimed to have been killed at Kartel’s home in Havendale, St Andrew, on August 16, 2011 and that Williams was killed after he and another man were taken to the entertainer’s house to account for a lost firearm. The body has not yet been found.
