FLY Rasta is the title of the latest album by Ziggy Marley. Scheduled to be released April 15, it is the singer-songwriter's fifth studio effort.
Marley is one of five nominees for the Best Reggae Album Grammy Award to be handed out January 26 in Los Angeles.
The 44-year-old, who is reggae legend Bob Marley's eldest son, won a Grammy in 2007 for Love is My Religion.
While he enjoyed commercial success and critical acclaim with the Melody Makers (which included brother Stephen and sisters Sharon and Cedella) Marley's solo work has not fared well.
His solo projects include a rock album (Dragonfly) and a children's set (Family Time). On Fly Rasta, Marley returns to his reggae roots, working with producer Dave Cooley.
Its title track and lead single was released last week. To support the 10-track album, Marley has announced a number of American and European dates.
The first of these shows is scheduled for February 19 at the Belly Up in San Diego, California.
The official tour starts April 8 in Los Angeles at Club Nokia. Three days later, Marley plays the Tortuga Festival in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
His European leg kicks off April 15 in Brussels, Belgium
