A St Catherine man who punched his girlfriend in her face was fined $60,000 or six months' imprisonment when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Grantice Brown, 37-year-old labourer, of Spanish Town, St Catherine, pleaded guilty when he appeared before Resident Magistrate Marcia Dunbar-Green.

He was subsequently sentenced by the court.
The court heard that in July last year, he and the complainant were at home when a dispute developed.
He punched her repeatedly in her face which resulted in swellings.
A report was made to the police and Brown was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.
