In world news, this interesting story comes all the way from the U.K.
Samantha Lamb says that she donated one of her kidneys to her ailing husband, Andy, and had to go through the absolute most to do it (including getting on a weight loss plan, and well, you know…having to undergo a serious surgical procedure and what not), only for him to up and leave her when he got healthy again.
The 41-year-old mother of one told The Mirror that in 2009 her husband’s health declined and his poor health caused him to be angry, taking said anger out on Lamb:
He thought the world was against him and everyone else was to blame. I loved him and wanted him to get better but his moods were awful and he’d take it out on me.
So she persuaded him to take her kidney because she wanted to see him get better. He had the procedure, which was documented by the BBC in a special the network did on organ donation in general. But soon as Andy got healthy, he started bickering with Lamb and spending more time outside the home. Some of that time, Lamb claims, was spent with someone she once called a friend.
I confronted him about having an affair with my friend Clare. My mum and sister saw him with his arm around her. He denied it and stormed out.
She said she went straight to Clare, who admitted that she had been involved with Andy.
She admitted it and said she was in love. I wanted to throttle Andy.I got Clare to phone him, and put him on the speaker – to hear his reaction when she told him, ‘Sam knows’.He just said, ‘Oh’.I did what any woman would do. I cut up his clothes, put them in black bin bags and left them outside the house.
Lamb admits to taking Andy back even after that, but says he started getting caught up talking to women online and before she knew it, he packed up his stuff, left his keys behind and just left the house for good. They’ve ben estranged since late 2012. Now she wants a divorce…and her kidney back.
I would definitely go through the operation again –- but I wouldn’t give the kidney to him. I hate him. If I could I’d take it back and give it someone else.
As for Andy, he told The Mirror that he didn’t leave her for anyone else like she claims, but that things just weren’t working out between them. As for the kidney:
I never wanted her to donate her kidney because it was a big risk. But she insisted and I’ll always owe her my life.
Homegirl isn’t suing (and I doubt the courts would allow her to have the kidney back because he’d probably die) so she’s just complaining for the sake of letting the world know that Andy did her dirty. It might be best to chalk this up as a lesson learned, get that divorce, and move on. But what do you make of all this?
