Chevaughn Makes EP Debut As 'Hopeless Romantic'

With love the dominant theme on his upcoming EP, Hopeless Romantic, Chevaughn says many persons will be able to relate to his latest work. "Everybody who listens to it will be able to relate to it. We have all experienced this one thing and that is love," Chevaughn told The Sunday Gleaner.
He promises variety within the theme. "This will show the many moods of love, the timeless element of it. Sometimes you give up on it, but you turn right back to it. It (love) is something that has always resonated with me. It is just something that I find very fascinating. It's an open expression of what I'm feeling," Chevaughn said.
Chevaughn said he did a mixtape in 2011, but Hopeless Romantic will show his musical growth. "The catalogue since the mixtape was geared to put people in the frame of mind for this EP," he said, noting that he released songs such as All About You and I Want You.
Live performance
While the iTtunes release date for the EP remains uncertain, Chevaughn said there will be a Hopeless Romantic live performance on Wednesday, February 12, at 689 by Brian Lumley in New Kingston. He said those who attend will hear previously released songs, as well as tracks from the EP. "A lot of people have been wanting to see Chevaughn onstage doing my catalogue," Chevaughn said.
In terms of boosting his career, Chevaughn said the Hopeless Romantic performance will do more for not only sales, but for him as an artiste. "It's about creating a buzz and doing something that people have been asking for, kinda giving them an ear of what they are going to buy. The hope is that when they listen to Chevaughn they will go out and buy," he said, adding that a 'Hopeless Romantic' cocktail drink will also be available at the concert.
Tracks
On the EP are Head Over HeelsI Didn't Know and Gleaner (Love Won't Leave Me Alone), produced by Notice Productions. This Timethat was done by Frankie Music, and Unfinished Song is produced by Webster Music. Distribution of the EP will be done by Zojack Worldwide.
Despite pouring his heart out on his latest work, Chevaughn is cautious about making projections. "I really don't have any expectations apart from people just giving it an ear. I just hope people will love it because they will be able to relate to it," he told The Sunday Gleaner.
