The musician just completed 95 days of rehab to treat anger management issues. He was in court on Friday for a progress hearing related to the 2009 Rihanna assault case.
Paperwork from the facility was filed as part of the hearing, and details the issues Chris has been dealing with.
"Mr. Brown became aggressive and acted out physically due to his untreated mental health disorder, severe sleep deprivation, inappropriate self-medicating and untreated PTSD," wrote the rehab facility, according to TMZ.
The outlet reports Chris was diagnosed with Bipolar II, and there was no explanation given as to the cause of the PTSD.
The treatment centre also revealed the singer had been 'self-medicating inappropriately'.
In the letter submitted to court, it was revealed Chris is taking medication to treat the bipolar disorder and is using relaxation techniques to help with anger issues. He also underwent testing and came out negative for all drugs, including marijuana.
The treatment facility make a point of saying Chris has been making exceptional progress and they are more than happy with his behaviour while in treatment. The 24-year-old apparently got up at 5am every day and worked hard, taking all his duties seriously.
"Mr. Brown's attitude has been beyond exemplary in regard to his community service responsibilities," read the letter.
Chris was clearly nervous about appearing in court on Friday, asking fans to support him the day before.
'Court tomorrow. Prayers and Positivity. Thank you so much GOD and team breezy for everything you do (sic),' he posted on Twitter.
Chris' recent legal troubles stem from his probation being revoked after he allegedly punched a man called Parker Adams in October.
