Dance hall artist Blaazz takes aim at rapists

DEEJAY Blaazz tackles the serious issue of abuse against women and children in his latest release single Raper Bwoy.
Released on January 8, the track is produced by Moby's Records.
The up-and-coming artiste said the prevalence of rape in our society is a major concern. He said the news reports are oftentimes dominated by these atrocities.
"We have to protect the women and little girls from these savages. It is a serious topic but I address it with a little bit of wit," he said.
Blaazz (given) name Andrew Folkes) hails from May Pen in Clarendon. The 25-year-old deejay, who got his break in 2009 with Wah Sleep, said he plans to release his 10-track mixtape titled Lyrical Messiah later this month.
The play list includes the title track Lyrical Messiah as well as Cameras Don't Lie and Kartel a di Messi.
He said he intends to engage the minds of people.
"I just try to push the boundaries of what dancehall can say and show that one can use intellect to teach and entertain. Knowledge is power. You don't have to sing about sex and partying all the time," he said.
Blaazz is known for songs including Tax Everything and Better Life.
