defence attorney says Prosecution clutching at straws in Kartel Trial

Defence attorney Michael Lorne poured cold water on the prosecution’s case against his client Shawn Campbell Monday morning as the murder trial of entertainer Vybz Kartel and four co-accused continues in the Home Circuit court.
Lorne in giving his final argument told the jurors “The prosecution is clutching at straws”.
“Is there anything to show that Campbell ordered somebody to travel with him”? Lorne questioned. “Was there a plan”? If the prosecution has failed to show that plan, then their case has fallen down and they are relying on circumstantial evidence,” Lorne declared.
Campbell, also known as ‘Shawn Storm’, is alleged to have transported murder victim Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams to Kartel’s Havendale house on the day he was killed.
The prosecution had argued that although Campbell was not at the house at the time of the murder, he was aware of the plot to kill the men. Lorne began his presentation on Friday.
Defence attorneys Pierre Rodgers, Everton Dewar and Tamika Henry are expected to present their closing arguments before the case is handed over to the jurors by president Judge Justice Lennox Campbell.
