Dubai Police Now Drive A $1.6 Million Bugatti Veyron

Apparently bored of driving a $400,000 Lamborghini Aventador, Dubai Police officials announced Thursday they've added a Bugatti Veyron to their fleet.
The police car, estimated to cost about $1.6 million, tops out just north of 250 mphand can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in under 2.5 seconds -- more than enough giddyup to catch even the most determined speeder. Well, that is if it ends up serving in the line of duty.

Major-General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, commander-in-chief of the Dubai Police, told the Khaleej Times the car was purchased as part of an effort to "[modernize] their patrols and intensify their presence in important tourist areas."
The over-the-top squad cars are expected to spend most of their time in highly touristed areas near the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Burj Al Arab and Sheikh Mohammed Boulevard. As Jalopnik points out, that effectively makes the Veyron "something like a permanent parade car, a rolling billboard to the UAE's wealth."
Gulf News reports the Veyron will will join the Dubai Police's already absurd fleet of supercars, which, in addition to the Lamborghini mentioned above, also includes two Ferrari FFs, a Bentley Continental GT, a Mercedes SLS and an Aston Martin One. The combined value of the cars hovers at about $4 million.
