These days folks can’t even make music together without rumors floating around that they’re carrying on some top secret relationship and having a child together. The latest musicians to be targeted with these rumors are Drake and singer Jhené Aiko. According to recent reports, not only were the duo madly in love, but Jhené was also said to be two month pregnant with Drake’s child. The baby was rumored to be conceived after the two hooked up during their recent tour.
After remaining silent for a while, the 25-year-old singer-songwriter made it clear that she is not pregnant with anyone’s baby when she tackled the rumors head-on via Twitter last week.
“I’m not pregnant, kids,” she tweeted. “Now run along and enjoy your Friday!” she added. “And as my 4th grade teacher use to say ….’go forth and be a blessing.’ ”
So far there has been no word from either party regarding that nature of their relationship, but she did recently reveal that she is currently in love.
“I AM in love (laughs),” she confessed during an interview with SingersRoom last November. “I think you’re the first person I’ve told that to, but I am, and I love being in love. And I think the best thing about being in love is just for me, as I get older, really understanding what that means, and for me it means to be able to completely be yourself with another person, and to completely accept and understand them. Not having to depend on them for your happiness, but being happy enough to want to share it with another person. For me, it’s all about giving and not receiving. And that’s the line in the Drake song where I said, “I love me enough for the both of us,” and that’s basically what I mean. Like, I don’t need anything from you, I love you cause I love myself.
Whether or not Drake is the object of her affection is something that we’ll more than likely have to stay tuned to find out. But I think it’s safe to say that those pregnancy rumors are a dud.
