- Jill Scott will be teaming up with Usher on the upcoming season of The Voice. Usher had only great things to say about the singer and their collaboration on the show. "That's my secret weapon, incredible, as a writer, as a musician, as an actress, all those elements really help to prepare artists." Jill added, "When Usher calls, you take the call." - John Legend has scored the biggest Billboard Hot 100 hit of his career with his latest single "All of Me." Following his Grammy performance, the song has rocketed to number 17 on the Billboard charts. - Starz has picked up a half-hour scripted series Survivor's Remorse, a basketball comedy produced by NBA star Lebron James. The series follows Cam Calloway, a basketball star in his early 20s who is thrust in the world of professional basketball after signing a multi-million dollar contract. - 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen has been named the ambassador for the Anti-Slavery international. Anti-Slavery International, the world's oldest human-rights organization, was set up in 1839 to lobby against slavery and related abuses. McQueen met with officials at the groups headquarters to declare his intention to highlight the importance of combating modern-day slavery across the globe. McQueen spoke about why his position is important; "I hope that 150 years from now, a film will not be made about our ambivalence to slavery. We have to do something about it." [EurWeb]
- Oprah was honored Wednesday evening with the Montecito Award at the 29th annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival. The award honors performers who have given a series of classic and standout performances throughout their career.
