Fast-rising reggae singer Francheno has a new sound and a new image for 2014.
The talented Montego Bay native recently decided to do a total makeover in terms of his sound and image in order to grab the attention of younger music lovers.
"The music business is ever-changing and you have to keep up with the pace or get left behind. I'm a young man and I want my music to appeal to the youths. If you don't give your target audience what they require they will not support you, that's why I have decided to change my image and my sound."
Known for slow reggae jams like Ghetto Youths Be Strong, My Little Red Rose and Life Set A Way, Francheno has flipped the script and is now devoting his time to record dancehall songs. His latest offering is a racy dancehall number titled Hot Inna Di Club on the Burn Out Records imprint.
"The fans know me because of the reggae songs, the love songs and the social commentary. But the time has come for me to show off my versatility and that's what I'm doing. I'm still going to record reggae songs, because that's the foundation, but for now I will be dropping a lot of dancehall tunes. Hot Inna Di Club, is a straight 'club banger', it's a party track, the girls love it," he said.
Francheno recently shot the video for Hot Inna Di Club, under the guidance of music video director Wayne South.
"We shot the video about a week ago. The whole thing went well. We did it in Kingston at various locations such as Lucky 38 and Puls8. The video is now being edited and should be ready for release before the end of the month."
Francheno is booked to perform on several events, including the annual Hague Show that will take place on March 5 in Trelawny, and Fashion Affair on March 29 at Inna Di Lawn, in Kingston.
