Rihanna back 'texting Chris'

Rihanna and Chris Brown have reportedly been exchanging 'a flurry' of text messages.

The couple have endured constant rumours about their relationship following their split in 2009 after Chris assaulted Rihanna. She confirmed they were back together last year but they then broke up again, with Chris returning to Karrueche Tran.

Chris recently completed a 90-day anger management rehab stint and is now rumoured to be back in touch with his ex, much to the worry of her friends.

'Chris started texting Rihanna on her birthday [February 20], and the two have been sending each other a flurry of texts ever since,' an insider told New York Post.

'Rihanna didn't write back right away. but later that night she started getting sentimental and texted back, 'thank you,' and asked how he was. Since then, the two haven't stopped texting each other and friends are freaked out that she's going to start dating him again.'

However, Chris isn't the only star said to be vying for the 26-year-old Barbadian singer's affections. She has been in Paris this week and performed at one of Drake's shows, taking to the stage to sing her hit Pour It Up and duet on Take Care.

The pair previously dated and looked flirty on stage. They were also seen partying at a nightclub together.

Chris and Drake have a famously difficult relationship. They were involved in a bar brawl in 2012, said to have been sparked after Drake goaded Chris by saying he was sleeping with Rihanna.

Around a year later, Canadian rapper Drake commented on the incident.

'I don't want my name to be synonymous with that guy's name. I really don't. I wish we could sit down, just like you and me are right now, and talk it out man-to-man. But that's not going to happen,' he told GQ.

'I'm not confrontational, but if someone challenges, I'm not going to back down.

'It's embarrassing, the amount of media coverage. Two rappers fighting over the woman. He's not even a rapper, but still, it's the last way you want your name out there. It distracts from the music. But he's made me the enemy, and that's the way it's gonna stay, I guess."
