VYBZ KARTEL MURDER TRIAL UPDATE: LETTER ALLEGEDLY WRITTEN BY PROSECUTION'S MAIN WITNESS PRESENTED IN COURT

Local sources have reported that the letter supposedly written by the prosecution’s main witness to the Public Defender was presented into evidence today as the Vybz Kartel murder trial continued in the Home Circuit Court.
The document was presented by Lorna Palmer, the executive secretary to the Public Defender. Reports are that Palmer told the court that she received the letter from the registry on November 18, 2013 and that the letter was opened, the contents recorded and placed in a file for the Public Defender.
The letter was read out in court this afternoon by handwriting expert, retired policeman Carl Major, during cross examination by lead persecutor Jeremy Taylor.
It was dated November 13, 2013 and was addressed to the Public Defender.
Reports are that in a portion of the letter, the witness reportedly said that he did not freely give a statement to the police as they used physical force to get him to give the statement.
The letter further read that he was fearful for his life and that’s why he legitimized the police’s theory about what happened on the August 16, 2010.
Reports are that the witness also allegedly wrote that he did not want to go to court because he had seen Clive 'Lizard' Williams after the alleged incident.
Under continued cross examination this afternoon the handwriting expert maintain that the signature on the letter to the public defender and signatures on the statements to the police were written by the same person.
The prosecution’s main witness has insisted that he did not write the letter.
