Chris Brown will reportedly stay in jail for a month.

The singer was arrested on Friday after getting thrown out of rehab for rule breaking, and appeared in a Los Angeles court on Monday in a bid to win release.

TMZ reports that the judge has turned down Chris' request, ordering him to stay in jail until April 23 because of his "inability to stay out of trouble'.

The outlet claims the judge was particularly concerned about Chris saying "I am good at using guns and knives' while in the Malibu treatment centre.

The 24-year-old will remain behind bars until a probation violation hearing on April 23. He also has a trial set to begin on April 17 related to an assault case in Washington, DC stemming from allegations he punched a man in the US capitol last October.

It was unclear at press time if Chris would be allowed to attend the trial.

The singer is meanwhile accused of breaking three internal rules at the rehab facility, the most significant one being an order to stay at least two feet away from any women. He was reportedly seen 'touching a woman's elbow and hands', a violation of the rule.

Chris also reportedly refused a random drug test. Although he is said to have changed his mind afterwards and came up clean, the initial refusal was still considered a violation.

The musician was also in trouble for allegedly speaking negatively about rehab during a group therapy session.

Chris was placed on probation following his 2009 conviction for assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

He was ordered to enter rehab by a judge in November. Chris was reportedly getting treatment for anger management, substance abuse and issues related to bipolar disorder. He was also diagnosed with PTSD, according to a letter officials at the Malibu facility submitted at his progress hearing on March 1.

A spokesperson for the singer had yet to comment at press time.
