Last month, Drake did an interview with Rolling Stone and admitted that he's not a huge fan of Jay Z rapping about art. "It's like Hov can't drop bars these days without at least four art references," said Drake. "I would love to collect [art] at some point, but I think the whole rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny."
Apparently, that didn't sit well with Jay. He didn't respond to Drake right away. But over the weekend, he dropped a freestyle alongside Jay Electronica over Drake and Soulja Boy's song, "We Made It," and addressed the situation. "Sorry, Mr. Drizzy for so much art talk/Silly me rapping 'bout shit that I really bought," rapped Jay Z. "While these rappers rap 'bout guns they ain't shot/And a bunch of silly shit that they ain't got."
Jay's entire verse was pretty great. But as you might expect, those lines in particular had the Internet going nuts, with people immediately wondering whether or not Drake will respond. On the one hand, it's unlikely that Drake wants beef with one of the greatest rappers of all time. On the other, Jay called him out, so how can he not respond? To help him make a decision on what to do next, here are some reasons Drake should and shouldn't respond to Jay Z's "We Made It" diss.
