Bugle releases Anointed, his debut album, on May 6 through Zojak Worldwide.
The 16-track set has songs produced by Anju Blacks, ZJ Chrome, Baby G and Johnny Wonder. Daseca Productions are executive producers.
"This album was deeply 'medz'. It comprises a lot of social commentary; it's not just a dancehall or reggae album. The tracks were written for all," Bugle told Splash.
Among those tracks are the hit singles Incompatible and Infidelity, a collaboration with Lady Saw. There are also 'combinations' with I-Octane, Julian Marley, Popcaan and Tarrus Riley.
Bugle (or Roy Thompson) has been on the dancehall circuit for seven years. Although he is known for other hits like What I'm Gonna Do (Exercise Everyday), Journeys, Pearly Gates, and Don't Give Up, he was in no rush to release an album.
"Timing goes perfectly with everything and the time has just arrived. I didn't want to release an album simply because other persons were doing it or I would have done that already," he explained.
