CHRONIXX WALKS AWAY WITH 3 LINKAGE AWARDS

A new ferry service for visitors and locals on the island's north coast, is to be introduced by February next year.

The 30 million US dollar investment is being made by the principals of Paradise Express Ferry from the United States, who signed an MOU with the Port Authority of Jamaica.

The service will initially operate between the tourism centers of Ocho Rios, Montego Bay and Negril and is expected to enhance the island's tourism product.

IN Z INTERNATIONAL CYCLING

In a move that could mean increased Jamaican participation, the International Cycling Union has agreed to increase race quotas for the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro.

The move which allows track teams to qualify two riders in the sprint and kierin events, is a reversal of the world governing body's previous stance that allowed just one rider per team.

The change also sees qualification systems being introduced for the four cycling disciplines road, track, bmx and mountain bike, while an additional three nationals will be allowed to participate in bmx, with the minimum age of competing reduced to 18.
