Lifetime has yet another family battle on their hands. Much like Whitney Houston’s family, the family of the late Aaliyah is threatening to sue Lifetime to stop the production of her biopic.
Aaliyah’s uncle, Barry Hankerson, is livid that no one from the network contacted them about the movie.
He says the family will block any attempt on Lifetime’s part to use any of Aaliyah’s music and they’ve already lawyered up. They feel Aaliyah is deserving of a big screen film, not a small Lifetime flick.
We were thinking more along the lines of VH1 ourselves
