Red hot dancehall artiste Alkaline recently completed a five week tour of Europe. The trek saw the deejay upping the ante delivering creditable performances which left thousands of fans screaming for more.
The large number of fans who turned out for the shows and the overwhelming reception to the songs were testimony of Alkaline’s popularity outside of Jamaica and the fan base that has been cultivated.
“The tour overall was a good experience and I got the opportunity to interact with my fans once more and that is always a pleasure’, Alkaline explained in a release to the media.
The tour saw Alkaline performing in countries including Germany, France, and Switzerland. It kicked off on May 16 in Paris and wrapped on June 21 in Germany.
In explaining how he benefitted from his first European tour, Alkaline said ‘Well I think I’m better able to control my audience now. Going around performing in various countries to people with different cultures forces you to get out of your comfort zone and to really work hard to get a solid reaction from the crowd’, said Alkaline.
The deejay has been riding high locally with a string of hits; recently released a summer song entitled Holiday Again. It was produced by Not Nice.
Feedback to the song has been overwhelming so far and plans are in place to shoot a video to accelerate the promotion.
Prior to embarking on tour, Alkaline completed songs for a number of producers including Anju Blaxx (UIM Records), DJ Frass and Not Nice. The songs are to be released shortly.
Currently on tour in Canada, Alkaline returns to the island in time for his scheduled performance at Reggae Sumfest Dancehall night Thursday July 17.
‘I’m really excited about performing on Sumfest. I am looking forward to performing the hits for the fans’, he noted.
Following his performance at Reggae Sumfest, Alkaline will embark on a series of performances across the Caribbean. He has confirmed dates for Grenada, St Kitts, Trinidad, St Maarten, Guyana, St Vincent and the Grenadines and Belize.
