Chris Brown made his return to the stage

Chris Brown made his return to the stage at Sunday's BET Awards.

The 25-year-old singer, who was released from jail last month, performed his new track Loyal at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California, joined by Lil Wayne and Tyga.

But host Chris Rock couldn't help but take a jab at the pop star before he grabbed the mic and showed off his moves.

'Chris Brown just signed a new deal, too bad it was a plea deal,' Chris laughed while introducing the embattled singer, who got love from audience members Future and Pharrell as they danced to the tune.

Shortly after performing, Chris logged onto Twitter and revealed he had released another track, New Flame, featuring Usher and Rick Ross.

'OFFICIAL PREMIERE of my new track #NEWFLAME featuring @Usher & @rickyrozay!! #TeamBreezy listen here,' he tweeted.

Chris has made headlines in recent months for a series of run-ins with the law.

The pop star was released from jail earlier this month after serving 108 days for reportedly breaking the rules of a rehabilitation facility where he was court-ordered to seek help for anger issues.

He also recently rejected a plea deal that would have kept him out of jail for allegedly assaulting a man in Washington, DC in October of last year. At the time, the star was on probation for his 2009 conviction for assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
Recent reports have suggested Chris may meanwhile be partnering with BET to launch a reality show telling his side of the story.

"BET has made it clear to several production companies... the network would absolutely air a Chris Brown reality series, chronicling his life after jail," sources told TMZ this month.
