Raging Fyah is brimming with confidence as they launch their second studio album, Destiny.
Speaking with the Jamaica Observer following its official launch Tuesday at Triple Century Sports Bar in New Kingston, bass player Delroy 'Pele' Hamilton noted that with the success of their first album, Judgement Day, they are prepared to do what it takes to reap the benefits.
"Judgement Day was the test and we passed that..it was well received and we expect nothing less from Destiny."
Hamilton said he and his bandmates are not deterred by the global slump in music sales. He stated that there are reggae bands moving units and believes Raging Fyah have the material to make a similar impact.
He said some of Destiny's tracks were recorded from as far back as 2008.
"This album is a celebration of the good, the bad and the indifferent, all the experiences that make up this thing called life. There are so many different elements... slow ballads to roots, rock, reggae," he explained. "The reggae element is always improtant to us as they is what we have become known for."
Like Judgement Day, Destiny contains 11 tracks. The band drew on the expertise of producers including Rory of Stone Love and the team from Frankie Music.
At the launch, Raging Fyah treated their audience to a mix of tracks from both albums, dropping the popular title track from Judgement Day as well as songs from Destiny including Nah Look Back, the pleasing lead single Jah Glory, First Love --a smooth ballad, Feel Jah Love and Brave.
