R. Kelly to Release House Music Album

R. Kelly will bring his musical talents to the world of house music, telling a crowd at the Chosen Few DJs Picnic in Chicago that he was at work on a new album inspired by the music created in his hometown in the late 1970s, NME reports.

"I want y'all to know a secret," R. Kelly said. "I'm working on a house album right now, and I want y'all to know, it's coming. And y'all know, I love music and I feel like I can do anything when it comes to music because I am music — just like y'all."
R. Kelly's house album is the latest addition to the R&B star's growing catalog of in-the-works material: Back in March, he told V Magazine he was planning a sequel to his 2013 LP, Black Panties, entitled, White Panties, while last December, he told Rap-Up he was putting together a sexy Christmas album titled The 12 Nights of Christmas, which will potentially see release this holiday season. "It's going to be a lot of love-making," Kelly said of the record. "I come with that, bearing gifts."
In that same interview, R. Kelly said he had "like seven, eight albums sitting up like rockets like that, just ready to be launched." Among those, the singer has teased a country album, while he's also said he's got 57 unreleased chapters of his ongoing soap opera opus, "Trapped in the Closet."
"I love that I can play around with all types of music," R. Kelly told Rolling Stone last year. "I did Love Letter and Write Me Back and those were fun albums for me to do, because they took me back to music I love. But I wanted to change lanes with this new album and remind people of the TP-2.com and 12 Play style of music I can do — 'Kellz music!' I like that I can change lanes and do all different kinds of music. Fans can never accuse R. Kelly of doing the same thing, I keep mixing it up."
