Artistes Aidonia and Demarco will not be attending Dancehall Sweets that is scheduled to take place in Amsterdam next week, claiming false advertising. The artistes issued statements on Thursday regarding the show.
In his video statement, Aidonia said: "I just want to let the European fans know that I will not be in Holland on September 5. I wasn't contracted for that event and I see some false advertising going on for that event, so we just want all the people in Europe to know that I won't be at The Sand. However, later in the year, I will be in Europe and you will see an official video giving you the full details of where and when."
The other act, Demarco, who was also advertised to be on the show, has distanced himself from the event.
"The management of dancehall artiste Demarco would like to advise the public that he will not be appearing at a concert dubbed 'Dancehall Sweets - 3 Year Anniversary' slated for Friday, September 5, in Amsterdam, Netherlands," a release sent to THE news team stated.
The release further stated that the artiste was forced to withdraw following an incident with an individual who was not authorised to conduct business on their behalf.
The release stated that "the person who dons the moniker 'Steven Elements' is not authorised to conduct any business on my behalf. All professional engagements should be referred to my official agents ONLY; Starkutt Records (starkutt@gmail.com or 1876.565.4308), Prism Marketing Consultants (prism.marketing.consultants@gmail.com or 1876.331.9362 or 1876.356.8047)."
Demarco also apologised to persons who were hoping to see him at the event.
