Free Single, New Video From Jah9

Today marks the 84th anniversary of the Coronation Day of HIM Haile Selassie. In celebration of the crowning of the king, Empress Jah9 will allow fans to download her brand new single, Revolution Lullaby, for free for 24 hours.
"Nyabinghi meets jazz on dub" is how the producer Bregt Puraman describes the track.
Puraman, known for works with The Congos and Lee 'Scratch' Perry, played an eclectic array of instruments over nyabinghi drums. The track is accented by flute, which is played by Jah9's musical director, Sheldon 'ATiiBA' Bernard.
ATiiBA recently accompanied Jah9 on a two-month Mission: New Name tour of Europe and California. Jah9's charisma and expressive power lifted hearts and minds at a number of major festivals, including Garance (France), Summerjam (Germany), and Rototom (Spain). With most of her performances backed by the celebrated Dubtonic Kru, thousands of festival attendees were treated to a stellar introduction to 'jazz on dub'.
Busy promoting her debut album, New Name, Jah9 has not released any new singles since mid-2013, so there is high anticipation forRevolution Lullaby, also referred to as 'Showers of Blessings'.
Adding to the anticipation is the pending release of the official visuals for fan favourite Avocado from Jah9's New Name album, produced by Rory of Stone Love. In tune with the theme of the playful, '80s-style, dancehall-inspired song, the video for Avocado is just as light, bright and lively, showing a more feminine side to the usually militant songstress. The release for the Avocado visual is slated for November 9 via Jah9's YouTube page.
