The Anaconda singer is gearing up for the launch of her third record, The Pink Print. But the 31-year-old is already thinking ahead to where she wants to be in her life, and she has a very clear plan.
'I have to put out all six of my albums, contractually. After the fifth, I'll probably have my baby,' she told Complex magazine. 'I wonder if I'm going to be one of those women who balances my child with a career. I always said, 'When I have my baby, it's going to be all about my baby.' I don't want the child feeling like they don't have all of my attention, so I always said, 'I'm going to take a little break.' But we'll see.'
Nicki has had a busy few months, promoting her own music as well as her collaboration on the hit single Bang Bang with Ariana Grande and Jessie J and hosting the MTV Europe Music Awards in Glasgow, Scotland earlier this month. She admitted during the interview that her hectic schedule can have a negative impact on her private life.
'[My biggest fear is] that I'll become so consumed with work that I'll forget to live my personal life to the fullest,' she added. 'If I'm done with my fifth album and I don't have a child by then, no matter how much money I have, I would be disappointed, as a woman, because I feel like I was put here to be a mother.'
Nicki keeps her romantic life on the lowdown, but for all the controversy that can come with her music and videos, she has traditional values with regards to marriage.
'I have definitely put off the wife thing because I don't want people in my business,' she revealed. 'I'd rather not do anything that's going to be on paper but I definitely will be married before I have my baby. I want to make sure I do it in that order.'
