Scammers target Ishawna

The management of Downsound Records' artiste Ishawna, has claimed that there are unscrupulous persons seeking to cash in on her popularity by placing her image on various posters, without first officially securing her services for events.
This unscrupulousadvertising her management said, has reportedly stepped up since her Restraining Order andCry Baby singles became big hits on FM radio and social media.
"There are a lot of flyers, all over social media, advertising her for shows and dances in Brooklyn, Bronx and south Florida. She has not been officially booked for any of these shows. The first time she will be performing in New York will be Ragashanti's show, alongside Lady Saw, December 13 in the Amazura. We want these promoters to cease and desist from advertising her for shows without a contract, or without our authorisation, because it gives a false impression to fans," Joseph Bogdanovich, CEO of Downsound Records, said.
Bogdanovich also warned promoters not to be duped by scammers, andappealed to the public to be more discerning in how they conduct business.
OFFICIAL CONTACTS
"I received one complaint regarding a booking for Ishawna that we know nothing about. Downsounddon't operate business through social media, everything is done through a contract, or through our offices at 906-7644/ 423-9272, or through Claude Mills at 395-1518. Media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter were created for the fans, and for Ishawna to interact with the fans. Don't send any money to anyone, claiming via bbm or Facebook, that they book for Ishawna. Just send an email to downsoundrecords@yahoo.com. You have been warned and we cannot be held responsible if you allow these scammers to trick you," Bogdanovich said.
Ishawna continues to do well in the local market. After her successful Full Black performance, she rocked the Sexy Wet Sundays anniversary in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
