After seven years with Disney’s Hollywood Records, Selena Gomez is officially taking her music in a new direction. Rumors have been swirling since early September, and – as of last night – the singer has officially inked a deal with Interscope.
The confirmation comes straight from the source – Gomez posted a smiling Instagram shot of herself sining the contract, with the caption, “Guess who’s officially an Interscope artist
Gomez joins the likes of current Interscope recording artists Lady Gaga, OneRepublic, Eminem and Lana Del Ray and has already begun working on her first album with the label.
Beyond alluding to the fact in interviews, she’s also been posting Instagram photos of herself recording – the biggest tease was released on December 2, when she said, “What the next 4 months will look like. Even in my hotel rooms. You guys, I’m beyond excited for what’s next. #2015″
So if you’re still wallowing in the emotional fallout from her wrenching “The Heart Wants What It Wants” AMA performance, dry your eyes – 2015 is going to be a big year, Selenators!
