Reggae artiste Khago set to premiere his music video for Dream on BET's 106 and Park.

Reggae artiste Khago is set to premiere his music video for the effort called Dream on BET's 106 and Park. The song features a sample of Biggie Smalls' It Was All a Dream and sees Khago delivering his vocals over a reggae and hip-hop flavoured instrumental.
According to Khago's publicist, Derven 'Flexx' Patterson, the single is already a favourite on several radio stations.
"Dream is currently reaping success as his latest single and the video is already showing signs of doing well. Khago is working on his social media visibility, and we recently released five music videos. The artiste is hardly in Jamaica because we get a lot of bookings in the US. What we want is to keep the videos coming because you know they say out of sight out of mind, so we are putting in the work in all areas so that he still maintains a presence in Jamaica despite being in the US very often," Patterson said.
wide catalogue
Dream was produced by C91 Records. However, the video was directed by Ike X at locations in the US.
"This is the beginning of greater things to come from the wide catalogue of songs that we have been promoting. We also released a music video for Ready for Love recently and that song has been doing well and was produced by Notnice Records on the Devotion rhythm," Patterson said.
Khago is set to appear on a number of shows locally during the festive season, including GT Taylor's Christmas Extravanga on Christmas Day.
"Khago has a big fan base in the US, and earlier this year he was awarded for his song, Nah Sell Out, which was one of the most played songs in the US, so right now, it is only fitting that we seek to premiere Dream on BET,"

Tommy Lee Sparta says he will deliver a musical massacre at Sting

Dancehall artiste Tommy Lee Sparta says he will deliver a musical massacre at Sting this year. The Vybz Kartel protégé argues that his career has reached the stage to indulge in musical warfare, however, only a few will feel his lyrical wrath.
He also had strong words for Gage and Alkaline, who he says have stolen from elements of his persona.
"Mi come with a new style inna music and people a try copy it, but people know the original from the followers. A me sey gothic dancehall and start wearmask and now Alkaline a wear mask and everybody dun know Gage a knock-off already, so I guess I am the trendsetter," Tommy Lee Sparta said.

Miss Kitty denies being in sex picture

Radio host and emcee Khadine 'Miss Kitty' Hylton has expressed anger at unscrupulous individuals who have attempted to malign her by creating an alleged sex image.
The picture, under the guise of a video, surfaced on the Internet and allegedly contains an image of Hylton, also known as the 'Fluffy Diva', superimposed on the body of a woman performing a sex act.
Miss Kitty denied that she was ever in any sex video or picture as the body of the woman involved possesses tattoos and she wears none.
derogatory way
"It was just a very malicious and facetious thing to do. It is a ploy to drive traffic to somebody's website. To use my image and to use my likeness in such a derogatory way is so sad and selfish. It is really disheartening to know that people work so hard to build themselves and at the end of the day people think it is ok to scandal somebody like that," she said.
The Fluffy Diva said these unscrupulous individuals were quick to tear her down, but would not sing her praises.
"I bet they wouldn't publish any of my accolades or achievements or what it is that I have done or how I have grown. They are never quick to publish females' achievements, anything to denigrate us they capitalise upon," she said.
her lawyer
Miss Kitty said she has been talking to her lawyer and that her team has since filed a report with the police's Communication, Forensic and Cyber Crimes Unit (CFCU).
When contacted, a policeman at the CFCU says he was unaware of the report.
In recent weeks, dancehall deejay Pamputtae also moved to set the record straight after a woman bearing a striking resemblance to the artiste was seen in a sex picture in a compromising position.
However, the woman in the picture was a United States-based adult film star.
Miss Kitty, through her foundation, is busy setting up a science laboratory at the St Joseph High School in St Andrew.

Tyga Reveals Cover Art For ‘The Gold Album,’ Which Was Designed By Kanye West

Tyga likes gold so much he goes by Instagram handle kingofgoldchains. He likes it so much he claims to have invested $5 million in a company that makes gold rolling paper.
That is probably a terrible idea. However, naming his upcoming album The Gold Album and then featuring on the cover a photo of a Kanye West designed gold-figurine of Horus, the Egyptian god of the sun, seems like a better application of T-Raww’s precious metal obsession.
The Gold Album, which will be Tyga’s first since his break with Young Money, is set for 2015 release.

Is Azealia Banks Right That Eminem Only Picks Fights With Women?

Azealia Banks is a Twitter troll. Let’s just get that out of the way. And, given the lack of sales of her debut album Broke With Expensive Tastes, not a particularly successful one.
One of her favorite targets of social media venom is Eminem. In her latest attack against Shady, she points out that for all of his reputation as “a diss god” the only folks he seems to be slaying are women or harmless pop cultural figures like Moby.
Banks isn’t entirely correct; Em’s gotten into it with Ja Rule, Benzino (which she acknowledges), Cage, Everlast, Limp Biscuit and Canibus.
Nevertheless, that’s not exactly a murder’s row of talent, especially considering Em’s stature. Does Banks have a point about Shady only picking fights he can win? Or can her opinions be dismissed as just more trolling?

Ron heads to Mello FM with Barry G

It is unclear what the next move of influential disc jockey Ron Muschette, who recently resigned from Irie FM, will be, but according to his Facebook page, it appears he will still be on radio.
Sources have told THE news team that the disc jockey, born Deron Muschette, will be heading to western Jamaica radio station Mello FM, where he is to be slotted in between popular hosts Richie B and Barry G.
However, when the station was contacted yesterday, a representative declined to comment on the move.
"I cannot comment. I am not at liberty to comment on that, sorry," she said.
A post to the disc jockey's wall on Facebook hinted at him possibly remaining on the airwaves, but it gave no indication as to what this could mean.
expressed sadness
"Thursday [today] I will be releasing a video through my blog site of why I left Irie FM and where my next stop will be. You will still be hearing my voice over your airwaves and will be smiling for many years to come," the post said on Muschette's wall.
Many fans have also expressed sadness at the resignation of the disc jock and have posted questions of the decision he made to leave the Ocho Rios - based radio station.
Muschette, who is best known as the host of the leading morning programme 'Wake-Up Call', which occupies the 6 a.m.to 10 a.m. weekday slot, decided it was time to move on to greater heights.
"I'm grateful for my time at Irie Fm and for all the wonderful experiences it brought. I was able to travel the world and be recognised for my talent. That is an inspiration in itself and I will be forever thankful," Muschette said in a media release. Muschette began working at Irie FM in 1999.

TEFLON SAYS I-OCTANE MUST RESPECT HIS MUSICAL ELDERS

Recording Artiste Teflon says fellow artist I-Octane needs to be mindful and pay respect to artistes who have been in the industry before him.

Teflon was referring to an incident where it is alleged, he and Sizzla had to chase I-Octane off stage at the West Kingston Jamboree, as he tried to perform as the show was being ended.

Teflon states that while it might have been a case of misunderstanding, I-Octane needed to respect his senior counterparts.

Rita Ora is single again after splitting up.

The Radioactive singer began dating Ricky Hilfiger, son of fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger, six months ago after her relationship with DJ Calvin Harris ended. However it seems that the 24-year-old is back on the market after her hectic schedule seemingly got in the way.
'Rita is so busy she is just flat out at the moment. She's recording The Voice on BBC1, she has campaigns for make-up, clothing and a perfume coming out,' a source told British newspaper The Mirror. 'Not to mention featuring in a Hollywood film, performing for the Obamas this week and recording her second album. Realistically, she doesn't have time for a steady relationship.'
Rita will soon be seen on the big screen in the highly anticipated movie adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey. Ricky is also busy working on his own music.
But while the split has come just before Christmas, it doesn't seem like there are any hard feelings between the two.
'It's not acrimonious ' they just sort of drifted apart,' the insider continued. 'They had a great time in Marrakech last month for her birthday but since then she has been working non-stop in the States. As much as she liked Ricky, her career is her priority at the moment, while he's working on his own album.'
However the source believes the former couple's paths will still cross, and that sometime in the future if their work schedules allow, the spark could be rekindled.
'They do share a lot of mutual friends, though, so they're bound to stay in touch,' they said. "However it's just not practical to be together right now.'

STAR READY TO FIGHT SNOOP DOGG: I REALLY WANNA BREAK HIS JAW!

Earlier this year, self-proclaimed "hater" Star blasted Snoop Dogg for wearing "whiteface" as his alter ego, Todd, saying it's just as racist as a white person wearing black face. Snoop clapped back, saying he was just having fun and that Star needs to "stay in his place or get beat."
While Snoop hasn't addressed the issue since, Star thought it would be a good move for the two of them to have a celebrity boxing match, hitting up celebrity fight promoter Hollywood Box via Twitter (@hollywoodbox11) to propose the two knuckle up to settle their differences.

QQ's father sent to prison

Sentenced to 30 days for assaulting woman
Entertainment manager Joseph 'GQ' Dawkins, father and manager of dancehall artiste QQ, was sentenced to 30 days' imprisonment when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court at Half-Way Tree, St Andrew, yesterday.
He was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.
The Crown led evidence that Dawkins and the complainant were sitting in the accused man's vehicle at a service station on Constant Spring Road, St Andrew, when an argument developed.
The complainant, the court heard, asked Dawkins if he had any other partners which resulted in him holding her by the throat and hitting her in the face, head and stomach and biting her on the left arm.
Dawkins was ordered to apologise to the complainant, however, his apology did not sit well with Senior Resident Judith Pusey. The senior magistrate was furious at his actions and ordered that he serves 30 days in prison.

Dadda on comeback trail

AFTER a three-year break from the music scene, emerging act Dadda is making a comeback.
He said his summer album Reggae Dancehall is currently doing the rounds and is his ticket back in the spotlight.
The 21-track set is co-produced by Germany-based Firewheel Records and local outfit Lacka Squad. It was released in July.
"It's like a double album -- half of it is for reggae lovers, while the other half is for hardcore dancehall fans. It's going good 'cause we have been getting some requests for shows in Germany and Switzerland," the 19-year-old told the Jamaica Observer.
He lists dancehall track Me She Want, featuring Zamunda as his favourite.
"This is the one getting a lot of rotation on the radio," he said.
The roots listing includes Crying For the Poor, Love is the Answer, and Right Move. Among the dancehall group are Tun Up Hot, Player Haters, and Sound Killa.
Dadda, whose given name is Amir Fyffe, said he took a break from his music for the past three years to focus on his examinations.
"I have 5 CXCs, because you have to have something to fall back on," said the former student of Ocho Rios High School.
But he believes music is his calling.
"Veteran singer Ken Fyffee is my grandfather and female deejay Lady G is my aunty," he said.
Born in Spanish Town in St Catherine, Dadda relocated to St Ann as a toddler. He started making the rounds as deejay at eight. He, however got his break in 2008 when he performed on Fully Loaded. There he met his musical mentor Bounty Killer.

Puppy Tail gets BBC attention

Currently one of the hottest and most sought after dancehall acts, artiste Demarco can now add another accomplishment to his name, having been added to the BBC 1Xtra playlist for his smash single 'Puppy Tail'.
The song has also been included in the day-time rotation which means it will get premium airtime alongside all the musical A-Listers across the globe.
According to Demarco, his continued success is testament to thehard work and dedication of his team at True Gift Entertainment (TGE).
"I am very happy and at the same time humbled by the announcement, this is another major stride for the Jamaican genre. Not many of our records make it to daytime radio on the BBC, as we are all aware, most of our music that is played on their radio is relegated to night-time programming, so to be among the selected few who accomplish such feat is indeed something of note," he stated.
Demarco also recently unveiled the official video for Puppy Tail on the weekend via his VEVO channel (youtube.com/demarcolifevevo), which hasalready racked up an impressive 14,000+ views, and continues to display an upward trend.
The visuals were shot byTrue Gift Entertainment, who is also responsible for the now viral 'Talk Yuh Mind' online series.
Set to return to the island later this week, Demarco headlined a pair of concerts on the weekend in Brooklyn, New York and Edmonton, Canada, to much fanfare.
The singer is currently promoting his new 30-track mixtape titled Bun Up Road. The compilation is available for free via his official Facebook page facebook.com/demarcodadon.

50 Cent Says He Just Signed $78 Million Underwear Deal

50 Cent’s headphone deal may have gone bad, but it looks like he may be making up for that with a much more personal piece of apparel.
A couple days ago, Fif announced on instagram that he had just closed a multi-million dollar deal for underwear.
“I just did a deal for $78 million for underwear. What did you muthafuckas do today? Lllllllllooooolllllllllll #Boom #FRIGO,” read the caption.
Frigo RevolutionWear would be the brand of men’s undergarments that 50 has been promoting since earlier this year. He was also talking Frigo up last night onLate Night With Seth Meyers.
“It’s $100 at Neiman Marcus. These $100 underwear were actually hand-created and actually hand-stitched,” 50 Cent said to Meyers. “They have a technology in ‘em where you can put your man apples. For you to place your sack in another sack that has been [ergonomically] designed for comfort. But, you know, women they spend so much money on lingerie. It’s the right project for men.”
Now when 50 says he did a $78 million deal that doesn’t necessarily mean he’sgetting all that cash. (Although you never know.) But whatever he makes on skivvies is likely going to more than what most people make period.  So he certainly has that hustle going for him.

Nicki Minaj talks about the journey to fame And Jimmy Fallon Tried Not To Stare At Her Breasts

Nick Minaj is good at what she does. The 32-year old has about 175,000 first week sales of The Pinkprint to prove it. But, like most people, Nicki didn’t start at the top. Before she got into showbiz she slung seafood at Red Lobster, and she told Jimmy Fallon all about it last night on The Tonight Show.
“If you’ve ever eaten at Red Lobster, I probably took your order,” she said.  “That’s what made me want to hurry and follow my dream because I was like ‘Oh my god, this is not for me. I gotta hurry up and get out of here before it’s too late.”
It was funny little story. And, like a good talk show host, Fallon tried his best to keep looking her in the eyes when she told it. But, as the story went on, his gaze started to drift downward. Check out Nicki talk origins, and Fallon sneak a peak.

Bobby Shmurda Reportedly Arrested Again

It looks like someone is going to be doing the shmoney dance in prison.
Bobby Shmurda was reportedly arrested on weapons charges this morning in New York City. The ‘Hot Nigga’ star and his GS9 crew were at the Quad Studios when they were busted for having numerous firearms
So far the arrests haven’t been confirmed by either the NYPD or Shumrda’s label Epic Records.
Shumrda was busted in June for gun possession and again in October for weed. Given NYC’s no-tolerance policy on firearms, the 20-year old is likely to face jail time if these latest charges stick.
Shmurda was supposed to play a surprise show in New York today, but that doesn’t appear to be happening.

Update: TMZ is reporting the arrest of Shmurda and members of his crew are related to a long-term investigation into multiple shootings and drug trafficking conducted by the NYPD and a special narcotics prosecutor. Specific charges haven’t been disclosed, but Shmurda will be arraigned on Thursday.

Lady Saw launches foundation

Dancehall artiste Lady Saw has revealed that she was abused as a child. As a result, she has launched a foundation geared at assisting abused women and children.
According to the Grammy award-winning deejay, who recently released a new album called Alter Ego, half of the proceeds from album sales will go towards the Lady Saw Foundation.
"I had the idea for years now but my lawyer at the time went abroad to study; but I recently got another lawyer. The foundation will cater to women because I was abused a lot growing up as a child and as a teenager. It was a horrible experience and many persons are going through that experience," she said.
Lady Saw is also looking to put her vision in reality by opening a home-training centre for abused women.
"Many women tend to run away from their abuser, including my mom. So what I am doing is trying to find a safe haven for them. I have located a property in St Mary with a building that resembles a factory. I want to purchase the property and use it as a centre for abused women. I also want one of those centres to be in Kingston. I am probably way ahead of myself right now because I am so passionate, but we have to start somewhere," she said.
Toy drive
The deejay also spearheaded a toy drive in the US recently, where she collected seven barrels of toys in collaboration with media personality Ragashanti.
"I also visited a children's home recently with my publicist, and spent some time with some disenchanted kids, and I was really touched, so I decided to get the toys, pampers and sheets for them as well," she said.
Victim of abuse
The deejay who has an adopted daughter disclosed that her daughter was also a victim of abuse during her formative years. Lady Saw says she found solace in the home of good Samaritans and she wants to extend the courtesy to others.
"I remember having to sleep at friends house and sleeping under the bed to hide from my abuser when I was growing up, and people helped me. So I want to give back. I don't want people to think that this is about publicity, because I am not that type of person. I want to create awareness about the issue and state the role I want to play," she said.
Lady Saw's album features inter-national acts UB40, Flo Rida, Estelle and Beres Hammond. The collaboration with Beres is called She Has Changed and is an effort which will eventually become the title track for the Lady Saw Foundation's website and initiative.
The deejay was recently featured on several international media outlets including Hip Hop Weekly, Sways Universe, 50 Cent's thisIs50.com, P Diddy's Revolt TV and November's edition of the Fader magazine.
Alter Ego was independently produced by Lady Saw's label, Diva Records, and distributed by VP Records. The effort is currently number six on the iTunes reggae chart.
The album is not explicit and can be sold to all fans of music. The effort sees the deejay dabbling in gospel, reggae, jazz, dancehall and hip hop.
The deejay is also seeking contribution from entities or good Samaritans who want to contribute to her foundation via ladysawfoundation@gmail.com. Information for the foundation will be uploaded on her websitesladysawfoundation.org and ladysaw.com. Both sites will be fully active by next week.
