'What About Love' singer was hospitalized Thursday, postponing his MTV's Artist to Watch Tour.
what landed him in the hospital in a new statement Friday (October 18).
The 17-year-old "was admitted to the hospital with 104 temperature and is being treated for a blood clot and extreme inflammation in his throat, as well as severe dehydration," his rep tells People. His mother, Michele, first broke the news of her son's illness Thursday. Prior to postponing the entire tour, he had already rescheduled two dates due to illness.
"Hey Mahomies its @michelemahone Austin is very ill. Unfortunately we are going to have to postpone the entire MTV Artist to Watch Tour," Mama Mahone wrote. "Austin is very upset about this & we want to say we are sorry to all the Mahomies & their parents who have made arrangements to come out. We feel very bad but we have no choice but to POSTPONE the tour for now. Thank you for your prayers #PrayforAustin."

Mahomies have been sending the teen star their love and well wishes in the wake of the news using the hashtag #PrayforAustin. His MTV's Artist to Watch Tour has been postponed to 2014.
"Due to illness Austin Mahone will unfortunately have to postpone his sold-out MTV Artist to Watch Presents Tour to 2014," MTV confirmed in a statement Thursday night. "The singer ... is now on strict doctor's orders to stay on rest and will need to reschedule all dates on the tour. The tour featured support artists Becky G, Midnight Red and We 3 The Future. Ticket holders for the sold-out tour will be notified of the new 2014 dates and all details as soon as possible."
