Chris Brown is said to be meeting with his high-powered lawyer Tuesday as he prepares to fight his assault case.
The 24-year-old singer spent a day and a half in a Washington, D.C. holding facility after a 20-year-old man accused the star of punching him in the face at the weekend.
A 'well-placed' source tells the New York Daily News Chris has returned to Los Angeles since leaving jail Monday and is preparing to fight more time behind bars with the help of attorney Mark Geragos, best known for representing Michael Jackson.
'He said it wasn't a pleasant experience,' the insider said of Chris' stint behind bars, noting the star has no intention of serving more time.
Chris reportedly had plans to meet with Geragos Tuesday and will be required to check in with his probation officer as ordered by the D.C. judge in his latest criminal case.
The star, who remains on probation for his 2009 assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna, pleaded not guilty to misdemeanour assault Monday. He was also ordered to stay 100 yards away from alleged victim Isaac Parker.
According to TMZ, a fight broke out when Parker attempted to pose for a photo with the star, who allegedly told him: "I'm not down with that gay s**t, I'm into boxing," before punching him in the nose.
Other sources have said the singer's bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, threw the blow.
Hollosy was also arraigned Monday on a misdemeanour assault charge.
The News reports the entire investigation may have been compromised, however, as the police report suggests a Metropolitan Police Department officer may have lied about a witness interview.
'Now that it appears law enforcement was less than truthful, that can only help his case,' a source said.
Chris could reportedly face up to 180 days in jail if convicted.
He could face an additional four years in prison if an investigation conducted by the Los Angeles County Probation Department determines he violated the terms of his probation.
The star is scheduled to appear in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom November 20 for a probation hearing.
