An ex-policeman charged for chopping his uncle was remanded in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.
He is Ricardo Morgan, 30, from Point Hill, St Catherine.
When the case was mentioned, Morgan pleaded not guilty. He further told the court that he was the one who was attacked and wounded by the complainant.
"I being a former policeman is causing distress. They took my clothes at the cell and accused me of being a spy, I am in need of bail please," Morgan said.
After the court was informed that Morgan was charged for the incident while on bail for murder, it was decided that he would be remanded until November 5, 2013, when the matter will again be mentioned.
Allegations are that on September 4, 2013, there was an argument between Morgan and his uncle. The complainant was reportedly chased and chopped. A report was made at the Point Hill Police Station and subsequent investigations led to Morgan being charged with wounding with intent.
