Japanese artiste's first patois single creates buzz

"I am really pleased with the feedback to the single, the song is speaking about how all the men are loving mystyle, and how I really love the way they're loving my style. but trust me, they're not ready for my style," she said, laughing.
The song hit FM radio last weekend like a surface-to-air missile, and given the buzz, the Rebel Soulz team is moving full speed ahead with plans to release a video. the Rebel Soulz CEO, co-producer Richard Mason, who is also an artiste, accompanied Koddy to Jamaica.
"We have started shooting the video for My Style, and the video should be ready for release in a few weeks. we are going to go hard with this song because she has begun to grasp that authentic patois sound," Mason said.
Mason will also be voicing his latest tune, Soulz On Fire at Grafton studios, a song that will be released in February.
The Rebel Soulz team has continued to go from strength to strength with the success of last year's '6 East' rhythm.Koddy first tasted crossover success with her Peace single on the rhythm, which established her as a reggae singer from Japan who has won the hearts of local fans with her own brand of reggae soul. Other artistes on the 6 East rhythm included big stars such as Lukie D, Tony Curtis, as well as up-and-coming talents such as Mason, Villa Dutch, and Beego Blood.
