Man fined for punching
a'man accused of throwing an elderly woman to the ground and punching her in the face repeatedly was fined in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
He is Ethburn Taylor, charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.
The Crown alleged that Taylor threw the complainant to the ground punching her several times in the face and all over her body causing injuries.
The complainant claimed that she was attacked as a result of her alleging that the accused had impregnated her 17-year-old niece.
"Him batta bruise me up and everything. Him breed mi likkle niece and she is 17," the complainant alleged in court.
Upon hearing this, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey ordered the man to pay a fine of $10,000 or serve six months in prison. A fingerprint order was also made.
