Man tells cop ... 'I'm going to chop my dad'

A man who reportedly told the cops he was going to chop his dad before carrying out the act, has found himself before the court. The accused man has been charged with unlawful wounding. He was remanded when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court recently and is set to return in March, when the matter will be mentioned, as the file is incomplete. The accused told the court that on the day of the incident, he and his father were in a dispute because his dad was trying to strangle him to death. "Your honour, mi give him $10,000 to put down for me and he said that he is not giving it back to me," he told Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey, when asked what the dispute was about. The accused said that he has a broken hip, and he and his father are at odds over insurance money he had received from a bike accident. The court heard that the accused had reported to the police that he was going to chop his dad, and he allegedly carried out the stated act.
