Rich Homie Quan is experiencing a tragic round of déjà vu after another one of his performances ended in gunfire and casualties. Three people were shot during two separate incidents at Mardi Gras World, where Quan was performing late Tuesday (March 4.) Two of the three were killed.
Police found one victim, who was identified by his grandmother as 25-year-old Deron Hitchens, in a parking lot at around 11:30 p.m. According to his grandmother, Hitchens was not the "kind of person to get into the fussing and fighting."
The body of another victim, a 28-year-old man whose name has not been released, was uncovered inside a car. A third person was shot inside the venue.
After the shooting, a relative of one of the victims was reportedly seen leaning up against a wall crying, "They took my baby, they took my son."
All three shootings took place within an hour of each other and were unrelated, police told Nola.com/The Times-Picayune. Authorities have yet to announce a motive.
Last December, a 24-year-old Ohio man was gunned down during one of Quan's concerts, prompting the "Type of Way" rapper to release the following statement, "It’s sad to hear that someone died especially during the holiday season. I just want everybody to know me nor anybody in my crew or affiliation had anything to do with the shooting in Ohio."
In January, two more people were shot at a Quan show in Missouri.
