Food Kartel sports new moniker

Though he has been off the scene for two years, artiste-comedian, Food Kartel, is back and is now sporting a new moniker.
The comedian-artiste, who is known for creating spoofs of popular dancehall songs to create lyrics based on food, told THE STAR that he now goes by the name Karnagie. But a new name is not the only change. the artiste has also decided to leave his comedic ways behind for now to tackle more serious issues in his songs.
"I took some time off to get myself in order, and right now, I am focusing on releasing more serious songs. My comedic side is not dead and buried, but I also want to be known on a wider scale. I am a multi-talented individual. I am voicing for good producers right now. my career is definitely looking good," he said.
When questioned as to whether fans would still be receptive to his more serious songs, Karnagie told THE STARthat he believed they would be just as or even more receptive to the change.
"It's not like I'm going to stop doing the comedic routine. I'm not gonna quit cold turkey, however, life is too serious right now to be doing only comedy. You can't stick to one thing. It's hard to build your name in this business, so when you build it, yuh haffi keep it. I'll definitely be incorporating some comedic elements into my performances," he said.
Currently working with Breadback Productions, Yardie Records, and Tru Love Productions, Karnagie has already released songs titled Tyad and Better LifeTyad has already been creating a buzz on Youtube and has been enjoying rotation on FM airwaves.
Karnagie's career was marred due to legal troubles in 2011 when he was accused of carnal abuse. The case has since been thrown out. Though currently not signed to a label, the artiste says it is the Supreme Promotions team that has been most influential in his career.
He is currently gearing up for shows in Canada and Antigua during the summer.
