DANCEHALL duo RDX have changed their tune by recording a reggae album. Titled Soul Poetry, the set will be released in the summer.

"The singles are beautiful and each tells a story of its own. The title is also well-thought-out because if one should take away the beat, he/she will realise its poetry they are listening to," says group member Andre 'Delomar' Bedward.

He told the Jamaica Observer that it was refreshing to try something different after years of doing hardcore dancehall songs.

"RDX is not just about fun and happiness. We have a spiritual side too and we can't explore and accomplish that on dancehall beats. Therefore, we chose reggae."

The album will be promoted mainly in Europe which has traditionally favoured reggae to dancehall. Among the tracks on Soul Poetry are Family and Always, both released late last year.

Bedward and Carlton 'Renegade' Williams started their music career in 2003 as members of the trio Xcitement Crew which evolved into RDX three years later.

They rose to prominence in 2007 with songs like Dance and Everybody Dance (a collaboration with deejay Jigsy King).
