Following Vybz Kartel's guilty verdict last month, speculations mounted as news spread that the police would remove all Gaza related graffiti. And with less than a month since Kartel's sentencing, the law enforcers have made good on their promises.
Officers from the Waterford Police Station have confirmed news that paintings supporting the Gaza Empire and their incarcerated leader, Vybz Kartel, were being removed.
The department told The WEEKEND STAR that the operation began just before 12 p.m., yesterday, and will continue until all graffiti that promote negativity in the area have been removed.
"We can confirm that all graffiti that are deemed to have a negative influence in and around the Waterford area are being removed, that includes the paintings on the Gaza," an officer said. The officer said that the operation is not to target the entertainer in anyway, as there are paintings that are being removed that have no relation to the Gaza Empire or the self-proclaimed Worl' Boss.

The news has not gone down well with supporters of the Gaza who took to social media to voice their disgust and rage at the actions of the law enforcers.
The Facebook page - Gaza Fans Only, which was set up for Empire supporters, released a picture that seemingly shows the lawmen painting out pictures of the deejay along with a mural which read 'Gaza City'. The caption for the photo read, "As you can see people the police them a paint out the Gaza wall a Waterford. Vybz Kartel face was the first to be painted off the wall".
This angered some users who were not afraid to air their opinions. One user said, "Dem dutty police deh u see", while another lamented "Sufferation we a face and dats all dem can do, dem fi find some work give people fi do".
Others blamed the Government, while stating the operation would only be a waste, as the paintings could easily be redone. Up to press time yesterday, the post had generated over 60 comments and 30 shares.
