New York-based dancehall deejay Kranium is sitting at the top of iTunes Reggae Top 100 with a remix of Lifestyle, featuring Troy Ave.
Initially released in September 2013, the single was part of the Love Notes Riddim Project. It was, however, re-released on iTunes in March 2014.
Kranium stole the spotlight from another Jamaica-born artiste Anita Antoinette with her rendition of Rude (The Voice performance).
"Lifestyle is about what every youth desires, whether rich or poor. Being able to buy what you want, fly where you want and getting any girl you want. That is the 'Lifestyle'. That's my dream to be able to achieve my goals and being able to enjoy the luxuries of being successful," Kranium told the Jamaica Observer.
Lifestyle remix was produced by LMR Pro, who also produced Kranium's Nobody Has to Know.
The 23-year-old said he was extremely happy about the progress of his single and hopes that the success will continue.
"It's a great feeling. Our first single Nobody Has To Know was number one on UK charts, but never one on US charts. I hoped for it and worked towards it so the Lifestyle remix being number one on the iTunes Reggae Top 100 chart is long-awaited. We are happy to know that people are not only enjoying the music but buying it as well," he said.
Kranium (real name Kemar Donaldson) was born in Clarendon. He spent his formative years between Montego Bay in St James and Seaview Gardens in St Andrew. His break came in 2008 with the release of his debut single This Morning.
At 13, he migrated to the Big Apple and attended Jamaica High School in Queens, New York.
His other releases include Swagga Buck, Got to Believe and Hear My Cry.
