HIP-HOP artiste Rkade has released the mix tape titled Press Play. The rapper, who was born in London, is now based in New York.
Press Play has collaborations with a number of Jamaican acts.
"I decided to embark on this project with (disc jockey) ZJ Elektra because of my love for Jamaican music and also due to the fact that this was never attempted before. The plan was to get a few young, hip and trendy artistes, who appealed to the younger generation, but with hard work and the support of key players in the Jamaican music industry, I managed to receive support from a lot more dancehall artistes," Rkade explained.
According to Rkade, the multi-track project is a "unique dancehall, hip-hop fusion".
Among the dancehall acts he worked with are CK, I- Octane, Beenie Man, Alkaline, Elephant Man, Serani, Agent Sasco, Mr Vegas, Kip Rich, Spice, Bugle, Ding Dong, Jah Vinci, Munga, Blak Ryno, Zagga and Mavado.
Happiness, which features Mavado, is the first release. The next single for release is scheduled to be Dying to Live with I-Octane.
Producers who worked on Press Play include Christopher Birch, Jordan McClure (Chimney Records), Seanizzle, and Sanjay 'Freeze' Pennant.
